Life in code is a very interesting book, it shows the culture of those behind the wheel on our everyday use technologies. It is important that we educate ourselves on what happens behind the scenes. Ullman does just this in Life in Code, showing how obnoxious it can get to be in such an environment. The extreme measures programing takes to make it available for us are also heavily implied. She shows great insight on how technology has evolved along with the internet. She truly does show a great range on culture, society, and her personal experiences all relating to technology. We have become a great world of technology and there is yet so much more to unveil, however I highly recommend this book to those curious of what has been happening all these years, the experiences we don’t hear of in our everyday lives, even if you live as a programmer yourself it covers great minute details on the subject. Last but not least, throughout the story white males and Asians are those with the greatest power, making strong cases against sexism and discrimination.
