After regularly noticing how disconnected the management experience had become, especially for those who spent a lot of time in library entries, I began designing Librainian. Libraries either didn't use any apps at all or used a variety of them for things like attendance, payments, notes, communication, time tracking, shift and seat management, and community involvement, but none of them really understood the environment that libraries operate in on a regular basis. Observing these little but continuous inefficiencies that students and library owners had to deal with on a daily basis served as a starting point.
The operational trouble and lack of structure in library administration were the primary issues I tried to resolve. For attendance, fee administration, seat distribution, communication, and performance monitoring, a lot of libraries and study centers still use manual systems. There was no centralised platform that could effectively integrate community, accountability, and productivity for students. My goal was to develop an environment based on how students and institutions actually study, rather than just another software.
While working on the app itself, my approach evolved gradually. At start, the focus was on building features and solving technical problems. But over time, I realised that building a product is very different from building something people genuinely use and find useful. That shifted my working goal toward user experience, scalability, branding, onboarding, and real-world usability. I spent more time talking to users - library owners, understanding operational difficulty, improving work automation, redesigning interfaces, and simplifying processes rather than just adding features.
The journey also changed my point of view as a founder. I moved from thinking like a developer technical person to thinking more about sustainability, growth, and creating long-term value by providing better services at better and competitive pricing. Librainian is still evolving and will keep on adapting the changes that the tech world is going to bring, but the goal has remained the same, to make the ecosystem more organized, accessible, and efficient for everyone involved.
