Vocabulary learning app with everything in one place: explore new words, see them used in context, practice regurarly with AI-generated exercises, ask AI for help when stuck.
Hey everyone! I've built a vocabulary learning app and would love your thoughts.
The idea came to me when I was looking for an app to study vocabulary and felt something was missing in the ones I tried. Many lacked exercises that helped with actually using learned vocabulary and offered only word cards where words existed without any context. Some had fancy word databases without really common words and expressions.
So I built LexIQ, a vocabulary app that focuses on making vocabulary learning easier - interactively with context.
LexIQ - https://www.lexiqapp.com
Here's what it offers:
1. A solid words database - covers everything you need when discovering new vocabulary: word definition, translations to your native language and usage examples (also translated).
2. Personal vocabulary - saves the words you study and helps track progress.
3. Spaced repetition - helps you review the words you've learned from time to time to refresh them in mind and improve long-term retention.
4. Context-based exercises - instead of just flipping flashcards, you practice words through exercises that put them in real sentences and situations.
5. AI Tutor - helps you out when you're stuck by giving clear explanations and hints based on context.
The exercises are generated by AI, which means they are fresh and varied. It also opens the door to creating personalized exercise sessions according to your interests and preferences.
So the core idea is to make vocabulary learning simpler with interactive contextual exercises and spaced repetition rather than simple memorization.
It's early days and I'm actively improving it - feedback from real users means a lot at this stage. Would love to hear what you think, what's missing, or what would make you actually stick with an app like this.
