Letturia: A calmer home for readers — no Amazon, no ads, 22 languages

Hi there👋 I'm the one-person team behind Letturia. I built this because I love Goodreads' idea and hate what it became: ads, Amazon upsells, a UI frozen in 2011, and my reading data feeding a retailer. I wanted a calm place that treats my reading life as mine. "Another Goodreads alternative" is a crowded sentence, and StoryGraph, Hardcover and LibraryThing are all genuinely good. So here's where Letturia is actually different: • 22 fully localised languages. Every alternative I tried is English-first. If you read in Polish, Albanian, Indonesian or Arabic, this one speaks your language. • Book clubs that are a product, not a forum — reading schedules with milestones, polls, in-person and virtual events with optional ticketing, and a discussion guide per book. • A map layer nobody else has — independent bookshops near you, a live reader Atlas with the real day/night terminator, and local clubs and events. • Spoiler-safe reviews — you set how far you've read, and anything past that stays hidden until you ask for it. • Plus the basics done well: shelves, streaks, stats and a yearly Wrapped, book lists that auto-generate shareable posters, an AI librarian, and a distraction-free reader for public-domain classics. It's free, with no ads on any tier and no investors to eventually answer to. Goodreads import takes ~2 minutes and you can back-date books so your history stays honest — and export (CSV, or Markdown for Obsidian) is free forever, because if you ever want to leave you should be able to. One thing I'd rather tell you than have you find: the site does use Google Analytics, and the "buy this book" links are affiliate links. That is what keeps it ad-free.
