"Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built Les carnets de Léka because Albanian is a language almost nobody teaches yet millions of people have a reason to learn it: family roots, a partner, a trip, or just curiosity about a country most people know surprisingly little about. I couldn't find a free, modern way to learn it, so I decided to build one myself. The site is a solo passion project: 33 interactive lessons, (for momentt) 12 Albanian cities to explore (and map), flashcards, quizzes, and sentence-building games all with zero sign-up, zero ads, and zero tracking. Your progress lives in your browser, and you can export it anytime if you want to keep it safe. (js) The site is currently available in French and English, with German almost ready I'm putting the final touches on that translation now. My approach evolved a lot along the way. I started with just vocabulary flashcards, but quickly realized that learning a language sticks better when it's tied to real culture so I added a whole 'Discover Albania' section with cities, history, and curated YouTube videos to bring context to the words. I'd love your honest feedback, especially on the learning flow and whether the gamification (XP, streaks, badges) actually makes you want to come back.
