legivel typesets PDFs from Markdown with its own engine, not a browser. Use the web editor, the API or your AI agent over MCP. Diagrams and math are drawn as vectors, and contents get real page numbers. Free for 100 documents a month, no card.

Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm Serghei, one of the makers of legivel. It takes Markdown directly and typesets the PDF with our own engine. No browser is involved.
Alex, who built the engine, has more than ten years of experience with print layout, vectors, fonts and PDF generation. The idea came right after he became the lead developer of a large vibe-coded project. To understand the code, he asked Claude for a full audit in Markdown, and the answer came back full of diagrams, formulas and SVG drawings. None of the tools he tried rendered them well, and turning the audit into a PDF for a meeting the next day wasn't as easy as he thought. So he put all those years of experience in printing and PDFs into a great product that makes a PDF from any Markdown with everything intact. Three months later, legivel was born.
Every plan has three ways in, with the same account and limits:
- The web editor shows the PDF next to the Markdown.
- The API takes Markdown in one HTTP request and returns the PDF.
- The MCP server lets an AI agent make the document. One command connects Claude Code or Codex.
Paragraphs break the way a book breaks them, table headers repeat, and Mermaid diagrams and LaTeX math are drawn as vectors. A [TOC] marker becomes a contents list with real page numbers. You set page size, margins, headers, footers and page numbers in the front matter or in the request. Fonts are embedded, headings become bookmarks and internal links jump. It also draws barcodes and QR codes.
PDFs can be tagged for screen readers. With `archive: true`, the PDF is PDF/A-4, or PDF/A-4f when it carries attachments such as the formulas' MathML. Paid plans can seal a PDF, which means signing it digitally with your own certificate.
legivel does not print web pages or run JavaScript, and it does not load your own fonts or stylesheet files. CSS inside an HTML block styles only that block. It is not open source. Self-hosting is in preparation for enterprise customers.
We generate the PDF in memory from your Markdown and don't store any of the content. We only keep metadata like size, page count and timing to count documents.
You can use the editor without an account, but those downloads are watermarked. A free account gives you 100 documents a month, no card required and no watermark. Paid plans start at $19 a month for 1,000 documents.
If a document comes out wrong, post the Markdown here or send it to support@legivel.com.
