Layer Renamer brings spreadsheet-style batch renaming to Figma. Edit hundreds of layers in a grid like Excel, with live updates as you type. Features smart name parsing, drag-to-fill patterns (1,2,3 or A,B,C), keyboard-first navigation, and component-aware naming. No save buttons, no double-clicking. Perfect for design systems, developer handoffs, and organizing large files.

Hey Product Hunt! I built Layer Renamer because I was tired of the tedious process of renaming layers in Figma. Double-clicking each layer, waiting for dialogs, and manually organizing hundreds of layers for developer handoff was killing my workflow. The breaking point? Spending 30 minutes renaming components for a design system, one layer at a time. I wanted a tool that felt as fast as typing in a spreadsheet. Something where you could: • Select a layer and just start typing • Edit multiple layers in bulk like Excel • Auto-generate naming patterns with drag-to-fill After testing with designers working on large design systems, the feedback was clear: speed matters. So I focused on: ✨ Live updates (no save buttons) ⌨️ Keyboard-first navigation (Tab, Enter, arrows) 🎯 Smart defaults (auto-parsing layer names) I'd love to hear your feedback and ideas for what to build next!
