Hi everyone!
Ethnologue is the top resource on world languages, trusted by both academics and Fortune 500 companies. We've spent more than 60 years collecting and refining data, working with our network of thousands of field contributors.
Last week we launched a feature that I'm really excited about: Online, interactive maps for every language spoken on earth. All 7,099 of them.
This is the only mapping system of its kind. It's simple, but really powerful:
– Choose any living language, no matter how small or endangered. (We've got a powerful search system to make this step easy.)
– Click "Map" to see its own custom map. From there, you can zoom and pan to see exactly where the language is spoken. We also show related data to give you a deeper understanding.
Most maps show actual language boundaries. When that isn't possible, whether due to too few speakers, security issues, or lack of data, you'll see a point marking the center of a language's homeland.
We hope that this will better guide your localization, interpreter placement, or next market entrance.

I am the product manager on this feature, so if you have any questions, just let me know – I'd be happy to help!
