Hey guys! 👋 As a millennial traveler, I’ve acquired some “standards.” I’m not down for the cheapest flight with the worst layovers just to save a few bucks, or those awkward in-between layovers that are too long to keep moving but too short to actually enjoy. I still want a good deal, but now I have my preferences. What started bugging me was how most flight search tools prioritize price and keeping you on one airline… and force you to start with a departure city, then you’re stuck picking from whatever their algorithm gives you— even if it makes zero sense for your actual plans. 🗺️ The "Zurich" moment:  I was trying to get from Budapest to Dubrovnik and the “best” option was a $300+ flight with a 5-hour layover in Zurich… where I’ve already been. So I did what you end up doing— procrastinating, bouncing between different search engines for hours, trying different combinations just to see the full picture. The whole time I was wishing I could just see all the airlines and airports that flew into Dubrovnik in one place. Eventually, I realized I could go Budapest → Naples → Dubrovnik for way cheaper— it just wasn’t the same airline. And Naples was somewhere I already wanted to take my parents anyway, so it actually made more sense. That’s where the idea for LaidPlans started. 😏 The "that route doesn’t exist" moment:  I was already building LaidPlans and using my “Browse Airports” feature to figure out a way into Belgrade. I found a route through Tirana that made sense. But a friend told me, “That route doesn’t exist, I checked Skyscanner.” … I fact-checked my own data, and what do you know? it did 😏 That was one of those moments where I was like — yeah, this is exactly why I’m building this. Since then, I’ve continued using it for my own trips. 🚀 Why LaidPlans?  Whether it was deciding mid-week in Rome to meet a friend in Kosovo by Friday to avoid insane tickets, or trying to get to a wedding near Lake Garda and not even knowing which airport made the most sense— I’ve been using it to find better ways into my destination. That’s basically what LaidPlans does. It lets you see how places actually connect so you can figure out your own way in— whether that’s cheaper, more convenient, or just somewhere you actually want to be. Stop searching by where you’re leaving from. Start with where you’re headed, piece the route together yourself, and GET LAID, NOT LAID OVER.
