Greetings Product Hunt Community! I'm excited to introduce what my team has been building for the past two years. We've been calling it the ‘Labs Platform’, our data science workflow management tool that enables multidisciplinary teams to collaborate on system models in a shared, cloud hosted space. It also allows stakeholders to have on-demand access to projects, providing a bridge to contribute throughout the lifecycle of the project. We started working on this because we saw several things happening regarding analytics work: Internally, there seemed to be a lot of friction between the makers and the requestors. Decision makers provide too little context to the data scientist, thinking that the heavy investment in big data solutions will produce magic, and the data scientist then produces an analysis that doesn't resolve the original need. This breakdown in communication is one of the major problems facing data scientists (after the abundance of data that must be sorted through to find the right applicable data points). Externally, when you look at how the market has tried to solve the challenges of data science workflows, the results fall into three buckets: automate more (more black box models are not the answer), make everyone an expert (a tool cannot replace the years of experience of a data scientist) or the solution is a highly specialized tool (meant for experts to talk to other experts). Additionally, none take a holistic approach to the problem, starting the process at data selection and ending at displaying pretty charts. This discounts how critical the bookends to the process are. You need to start with the problem statement and research, making sure that all stakeholders are aligned on the problem at hand. And at the end, there is a need to track the implementation of the decision based on the results. You need KPIs that match measurable tests to make sure that the enacted decision was the right one, otherwise you need to go back and iterate on the analysis. Questions: 1. How do you track and get updates on the progress of work? Do you request iterations when presented with results or does your team hit the mark with their final analysis?
