Hi Product Hunt, I'm Chen Yu. Japanese Skills is a JLPT study site for people who want to go from kana to reading real sentences.
Free, with no account: kana, 9,040 words, 828 grammar points and 802 reading sentences by level (N5 to N1), 2,080 Starter and N5 practice questions, and the first 10% of each of the 15 courses. Every question shows the reading, pitch accent, an example and an explanation, and points you miss come back later in another form. The courses explain one point per lesson and grade the exercises on the spot.
The December JLPT is on Dec 6. For the first 10 people from Product Hunt, this link unlocks everything (N4–N1 practice, all 382 lessons, the site's audio) free until the exam: https://japaneseskills.com/en/sprint/?c=V5YDR-WPYD9-3G288-M90WT. No card, nothing renews.
The interface is in English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese and Korean. The questions are original, not past papers. I built the site and its question generator with AI coding assistants; the two Japanese voices and the illustrations are AI-generated, and the word data comes from JMdict and Kanjium (full credits on the site).
Two questions for you:
1. Which JLPT level are you working toward, and what slows you down most?
2. Is there a kind of practice you wish JLPT sites had?
