I love word games and play wordle, connections, minutecryptic and parseword daily. For a few months now I've been playing around with a few concepts and ideas for word games, these ideas didn't pan out in practice, as much fun as it was building proof of concepts. I landed on the idea of Komposita (German for "Compounds") when realising that many common english words are composed of 2 existing words. I threw together a quick script to find out the number and after some filtering and omitting certain words, the final number was 8K+ (this gives me a couple of decades of daily words for the game). The design is intentionally calm and clean, focusing on typography and negative space. I've tried to reduce as much complexity as possible, in keeping with the simple nature of the game mechanics. I hope you enjoy playing as much as I do!
