Hey ProductHunt! After building the initial version of Fathom last year but then leaving that project because of time constraints, I found that I still couldn't stop thinking about how to make web analytics better. Especially for the vast amount of WordPress sites that install a third-party service like Google Analytics and then proceed to never look at the (enormous amount of) data that is collected there anyway. I believe that nothing will ever be as private as a self-hosted solution and with some choices we can make that scale very well, so I set out to build Koko Analytics. Koko Analytics is an analytics plugin for WordPress that doesn't require any third-party services and shows you some of the most important metrics: the number of visitors and pageviews and where they were coming from. It's super simple to set-up: just install and activate the plugin on your site and statistics will be collected right away. The plugin is released under a GPL-3.0 license: my goal is to reach the largest amount of people (and hopefully get some people off of Google Analytics), not to make any money off of this. If you've tested the plugin and have any thoughts, feedback or suggestions for it then please do let me know!

Switched over from other Analytic plugins and I don't regret it! Koko is lightweight but also powerful. Love it!

I use Koko on my blog for a while now and really like it. I have given up on Google Analytics a while ago for privacy reasons and used Matomo ever since but Koko gives a quick overview of what I need to know much faster.

I stumbled over Koko Analytics on my search for a lightweight and less intrusive alternative to Google Analytics – and absolutely love it for its simplicity and minimalist design!
