Knittable.ai turns a simple prompt or photo into a complete knitting pattern. Get stitch charts, row-by-row instructions, multiple sizes, materials, yardage, yarn and needle recommendations, plus a realistic preview of the finished knit. Create anything from cable cardigans to dinosaur sweaters, then refine the pattern until it feels right.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
We built Knittable.ai because finding the right knitting pattern is often harder than the knitting itself.
You might have a photo saved on Pinterest, a sweater you saw in a shop, or a very specific idea in your head - but turning that inspiration into a usable pattern normally requires hours of searching, drafting, calculating, and adapting.
With Knittable.ai, you can simply describe what you want to make or upload a reference photo.
For example:
“A kids sweater with a dinosaur motif in mustard yellow and green.”
Knittable.ai then creates a structured pattern with stitch charts, sizing, materials, yardage, instructions, and a realistic preview of the finished knit.
Our goal is not to replace the creativity of knitting. It is to remove the technical friction between an idea and the moment you cast on.
We are still early, and we would love feedback from knitters of every skill level - especially around pattern clarity, customization, and what you would like to generate next.
Thanks for checking us out. 🧶

Tried it with a photo of an old argyle sweater and the chart came out surprisingly close to the original. The yarn suggestions were on point too.

Honestly impressed by how it generated a full cable chart from a quick photo. The row-by-row instructions and yardage estimates felt surprisingly practical for actually picking up needles.
