Hey hunters 👋

Bit of context: I record a lot of screen demos and tutorials for my own stuff, and I kept bouncing between two annoying options. Free tools meant an hour of manual zooming and cutting afterward. Paid tools meant a monthly bill for something I only touch a few times a month, and half of them only ran on Mac.

Got tired of both, so I built KlipKap. You hit record, you stop, and it's already zoomed in on your clicks, cursor's smoothed out, subtitles are there, audio's cleaned up. Most of the time there's nothing left to edit.

I got tired of spending 40 minutes editing a 2-minute screen recording

Hi everyone,

I'm Ilyes, a solo developer. I wanted to share something I've been building for a while, it's launching on Product Hunt today, and I figured I'd tell the actual story here first instead of just dropping a link later.

For anyone who hasn't come across it yet: it's a screen recorder for Windows and Mac that edits your recording automatically the moment you stop, no separate editing app needed.

I record a lot of short screen clips for work: reproducing a bug for a teammate, walking through a PR, putting together a quick tutorial. The recording itself was never the problem. What actually ate my time was everything after: opening a separate editor, cutting the dead air, manually zooming in so people could actually see what I clicked, syncing subtitles one line at a time. A two-minute recording would routinely turn into thirty or forty minutes of editing, for something that was supposed to save time in the first place.
