Can you access the phone’s front facing camera?
Dmitri Lisita
@scott_valentine If you mean about whether you can do that using our platform the short answer is YES. You can do that, so the easiest options is to use PhoneGap page inside your application (see screenshot how to add PhoneGap in your app https://ph-files.imgix.net/c3682... ) Please have a look at PhoneGap access camera guide http://docs.phonegap.com/en/edge... `navigator.camera.getPicture( cameraSuccess, cameraError, [ cameraOptions ] ); ` here `cameraOptions` have many attributes, but what you need is Camera Direction { cameraDirection: 1 } Where Camera.Direction = { BACK : 0, // Use the back-facing camera FRONT : 1 // Use the front-facing camera }; Thanks for asking, Hope it helps

@kickappbuilder wouldn’t this be “coding required”?
Dmitri Lisita
@itsthisjustin The camera usage is for advanced users who require custom functionality and so we do not limit anyone to take advantage of. However we can add a new type of page/feature which would be configured from editor with no code required. If you have an idea of what would you like to have as a feature which uses camera that would be great feedback for us, to take in mind for our future add ons. Thank you!

@scott_valentine @kickappbuilder “no coding required” 🤔

Thank you everyone! I am looking forward your thoughts about the service, what's good and bad, and can be improved. Also if you have any ideas of features you would like to see here, feel free to tell us.
Dmitri Lisita
I am so excited about your appreciation! That's awesome! Thank you everyone!

I tried it and still stuck at preview screen ( Enter URL to parse). I have been following up this space for a while. I doubt that self-service model will work in publishing (magazine etc) industry. Most of them are happy with their outdated technology and see new tech as a threat. Probably that's why dwnld.me also pivoted after raising significant money from Greylock. And for smaller publishers, distribution via own app will be like isolating themselves They will still need google, fb, twitter etc to get traffic. I feel until you have a real use case for an app, creating one is a vanity. If there is a used case, you need to build it grounds up.
Dmitri Lisita
@get2vikasjha Thank you for your feedback. As per preview with parse from website URL to generate a template, it was working fine. If you can provide the URL so we can test it and fix that one, also include the browser you were using. About building magazine, you can start with Magazine template (http://kickappbuilder.com/applic...) and give it a try. We do support for iOS Newstand functionality. Specifically for publishing (magazine) apps we've introduced 'Cloud Resources', which you can link in you application in a different way than regular resources. Once user will download your magazine and would like to see some of these resources it will start downloading on user's device the resource on demand. Also you can include In-App Purchases to give access to users to a specific part of your magazine app which is "paid" content. About sharing on social media there are plenty of sharing options in that sense including but limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn ... P.S: If you have any questions feel free to contact us right there using our Live Chat, so it could be faster to get the response and unblock you. One more time thank you for feedback, Looking forward to hear you

I see taglines like this “build your app in 7 minutes for free. No coding required” And all I can think of are these cheap glossy mags with splashes across the front like “get a six pack in 24 hours just by eating pizza and playing Xbox” It just puts me off even looking at the product because no-one, anywhere is getting a finished, professional app made in 7 minutes. Also someone else in here has asked if something is possible and the maker has replied with a bunch of code. What about the “no coding required” part?
Dmitri Lisita
@mickc79 Thanks for asking about that. First thing yes you can build an app quickly, you can choose a template from our list of starter templates, customize information for your needs and see your app in just about minutes. All polishing and other details you can do later on as you wish. Second regarding the question above, as you can see there was some specific use case, without any clear use case like: RSS, Share on FB, Twitter, etc... The question was about how he can use Front camera in the app, so the easiest way to do it now is to use PhoneGap page(s) and take advantage of native functionality which he cannot find at the moment implemented in our feature set. That is perfectly fine, because we are not limiting you to extend any functionality you want. Once we have a clear vision about the feature (e.g. using Front Camera for some use case) using any native functionality we can add this as a new feature/page which will customizable from editor without any code manipulation. It is not about get six pack in 24 hours eating a pizza, definitely, but with a little bit of customizing your information using app editors you can achieve the goal to build your app without any coding, it depends on the complexity of the app you build as well. You can check out this tutorial on how to build your e-Commerce app with PayPal Payment http://blog.kickappbuilder.com/h... We will continue adding new ones and improve our platform to fit the best need of our customers. If we miss some important feature which you think it would be nice to have let us know, we will include it on our roadmap. Thanks for your feedback, Hope I did answer your questions Looking forward for your feedback @mickc79

Well, here's the thing in car you haven't got it as yet. PH is a community of makers(human). Although your proposition is I interesting, I'd say it's terribly executed. I (as would many other people I guess) would love to see a human face being the 'KickAppBuilder' façade and communicate with that 'human'. No one is interested in an entity. If you want anything positive out of this, be sure to put the humans from your team on this page. People with real names and real identities. That being said, the product seems good but the marketing just seems too clickbatie. Now, I know you will say that the platform can literally build an app in 7 minutes. On paper you're absolutely right but truly ask yourself, who does that? Remember, you're here for the long haul. All the best Cheers! :)
Dmitri Lisita
@allwynpfr Thanks for mentioning. Actually it was not a problem to put my name, I just created PH account with Twitter account which is for product, not my personal, in any case is not a facade. However I did change the name, unfortunately the icon is still automatically synced from Twitter. In terms of brand promotion I promote the product, that is why I don't use personal account. Regarding your thoughts about marketing ("marketing just seems too clickbatie") for sure this is not our goal to get clicks, our goal is to help people to create mobile applications quick & easy, without any coding and in a reasonable time to get it done. I encourage you to try using our service and let us know pros and cons, your feedback is really welcome. Thank for your feedback, Cheers, Dmitri
