Learn English as you type Chinese. Keysake is a free macOS input method that shows English alongside your Chinese. Save words, phrases, or full sentences from what you want to say. Japanese, Korean, and more languages are coming soon.

Is there a way to control how often the English suggestions appear?

@mariusholm Not at this stage, but a shortcut could be added later.
Keysake
@mariusholm Thanks for the great feedback! We’ll give this request careful consideration and include it in a future update.
Can it handle a full Chinese sentence and highlight useful English phrases from it?
Keysake
@yangliu44 Features like highlighting English phrases and breaking down sentence grammar will be added in the next update.
Saving full sentences seems more useful than saving isolated words for me. Are saved sentences searchable later?
Keysake
@haolin Yes! You can already view your saved sentences in the current version. We’ll add search, along with detailed explanations of what those sentences mean and how to use them, in future updates.
The keyboard part is actually pretty neat. Does it work well when you're just typing quickly?

@aria_taylor Because it uses Apple's on-device translation model, it responds very fast — no problem even when you're typing quickly
Keysake
@aria_taylor Yes, it feels smooth. We use Apple’s built-in translation, so it responds faster. And it won’t get in the way of typing in your own language.
I like the idea of learning from stuff you'd actually say. Feels more useful than going through a bunch of random vocab.

The idea is simple, but putting it directly into typing workflows is what make it interesting to me. Curious to see what you add next.

The saved phrases caught my attention. I'd probably use that a lot for expressions I keep forgetting.
