Keyframe.it is a free, browser-based 2D skeletal animation editor. Rig art with bones, add weighted meshes, IK and spring physics, keyframe on a dope sheet, and export to pixiJS, GIF, sprite sheet or video. No install, no signup. Agent ready.
Hey Product Hunt!
I built Keyframe.it because 2D skeletal animation tooling has been desktop-only and paywalled for a decade, while the runtimes it feeds (PixiJS, web game engines) live in the browser. It felt wrong that you needed a license and an install to make an animation.
So: the whole pipeline in a browser tab. Rig with bones, weight meshes, keyframe on a dope sheet, add spring physics, and export bundles that load straight into pixiJS - or GIF/video if you just want the motion. Everything autosaves locally; there's no account and nothing gets uploaded. Its also agent ready, so your favorite model can interact with the app.
Two things I'm particularly proud of:
Canvas → export fidelity is enforced by an automated parity suite that compares every frame of every animation against the official Spine runtime in CI.
The editor has a scripting API (window.keyframe, 150+ methods) — AI coding agents can rig and animate in it autonomously. Docs: keyframe.it.com/llms.txt
The demo link opens a real production rig you can edit immediately. I'd love to hear what breaks, what's missing, and what you'd animate with it. I'll be here all day!
