Keyboard Sounds is a tool that runs in your system tray and plays sound effects when you type on your keyboard. It comes with a variety of sound profiles to choose from, and you can even create your own custom profiles.
If you miss the satisfying sound of typing on a mechanical keyboard or just want to add a bit of auditory feedback to your workday, Keyboard Sounds is here to help. It's a lightweight tool that brings back those nostalgic or simply satisfying typing sounds, making your keyboard feel more alive as you work or type away.
I built this out of a personal desire to enhance my typing experience, and I'm excited to share it with the community.

Who could resist the sound of keyboard triggers? I feel like some ASMR creators might try using it to make some interesting trigger sounds (because I just tried it, and it’s perfect for that) haha.

@nathanfiscaletti Kudos to you for this launch! Wishing you and your team a fantastic journey ahead. What’s next on the horizon for your team?
This sounds interesting, @nathanfiscaletti! How does the customization process work for the sound profiles? Can we upload our own sounds as well? Looking forward to trying this out!
@ema_elisi Glad you like it! The application runs locally on your system. You can create profiles using the template file and instructions in the readme of the GitHub repository. I'm currently in the process of working on a mechanism that will make creating profiles a much more intuitive process through a GUI.
This sounds really interesting, @nathanfiscaletti! I love the concept of bringing that tactile feedback back into our typing experience. Just curious, what kind of sound profiles do you include? Are there different options for different types of typing (like coding vs. casual writing)? Also, for those of us who might not be too tech-savvy, how easy is it to create custom profiles? Looking forward to testing this out and seeing how it enhances my workday! Would love to see some user testimonials once it's out there!
@elke_qin Glad you like the project!
The package comes pre-loaded with 11 profiles to choose from.

There are also built in Application Rules that allow you to configure which applications have the typing sound enabled or disabled. But currently, there is no distinction between styles of typing.
This sounds like a really interesting tool, @nathanfiscaletti! I'm curious about the types of sound profiles available—do you primarily focus on mechanical keyboard sounds, or are there other options too? It would be awesome to have diverse auditory feedback. Also, can you elaborate on how easy it is to create custom profiles? I'm wondering if it's user-friendly enough for someone who's not very tech-savvy. Lastly, have you received any feedback on how it impacts typing speed or focus during work? That would be a cool angle to consider when launching!
