Your friends won't tell you what they earn. Keeping Up will. Connect your accounts (read-only, via Plaid) and see how your net worth, savings rate, and spending compare to people your age, in your city, in your industry — anonymously. Benchmarks start from federal survey data (Fed SCF, BLS) and get sharper as your peer cohort grows. iPhone + web. Free to start.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Keeping Up because the most useful financial question — "am I doing okay for someone like me?" — is the one nobody can answer. Salary threads are anonymous noise, national averages are useless if you're 31 in NYC working in tech, and your friends definitely aren't sharing their net worth.
Keeping Up connects to your accounts read-only through Plaid and shows you exactly where you stand against people your age, in your city, in your industry: net worth, savings rate, spending by category, portfolio allocation. Everything is anonymous — you see distributions, never people.
Two things I sweated the details on:
The math. Benchmarks are seeded from the Federal Reserve's Survey of Consumer Finances and BLS spending data, then blend to live peer data as cohorts grow — gradually, with outlier-resistant statistics, so one anomalous user can't distort your comparison and there's no bait-and-switch when real data takes over.
Privacy. Read-only access, no credentials stored by us, your individual numbers are never displayed to another user, and we don't sell data. The business model is a Pro subscription, not you.
Free to start — I'd genuinely love to hear where the comparisons surprise you. — Jon
