We built KeelCat after seeing how much engineering time gets lost maintaining third-party API integrations. When an API provider changes an endpoint, version, schema, or behavior, developers often have to discover the change, understand the migration, search through repositories for affected code, implement the fix, test it, and repeat the process across projects. We wanted to turn that reactive, repetitive work into an automated workflow. While building KeelCat, our approach evolved from simply detecting API changes to handling the entire workflow: understanding the change, locating affected code, preparing the required updates, verifying them, and opening a reviewable PR. The goal became simple: let developers spend their time building products instead of chasing API migrations.
