Kato captures chats from supported IDE extensions, CLIs, and local apps into local files you own, so they stay searchable, reusable, and easy to carry across your workflow. It's great for sharing conversations across teams too. The real value for me isn’t just backup. It’s durable memory: better handoffs between humans and agents, automatic project history, and a way to keep good work in markdown instead of losing it in closed UIs. I haven’t found much that solves this in quite the same way yet, but if you know of something similar, I’d genuinely love to see it.
