As Ale mentioned, the idea for Katch came from a Covid world where we all the sudden completely filled up our calendars with Zoom calls.. with no time for serendipity, no flexibility to spend a day doing deep work because of what are usually low urgency meetings scheduled weeks in advance.. I personally felt like I was always busy but not dedicating my time towards great work / output. So we set out to get this built so we could all be more productive.
While we're all super busy, we have loads of unproductive time waiting in line at post office or driving in a car.. time where we may not know weeks in advance we'll have and therefore can't schedule it.
The goal of Katch was to make unproductive time more productive, get 1:1 calls done in 5-10 minutes instead of the 30 minute default, and to create a less structured day so you can work on whatever is most important to you at that time, or whatever you are feeling most motivated to work on.
Katch also summarises calls which is particularly handy when you're taking a call away from your computer.
