Uttarakhand, also called "Devbhoomi" or the "Land of Gods," has many temples and draws pilgrims throughout the year. Of the many places of worship and religious tours undertaken by the devotees in Uttarakhand, one of the most important is the Char Dham Yatra. It is the yatra or pilgrimage covering four religious places, which include Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. These four places are located in the Himalayan mountains at an altitude of almost 5000 meters above sea level.
