Most kana tools teach you to recognize characters. Kana Typing teaches you to type Japanese — it maps the real JIS kana layout onto whatever keyboard you already have (あ is the 3 key, か is t), so any layout works. There's a romaji mode too. Free, no account, runs in the browser — works offline (PWA) and on phones with a tappable keyboard. Includes the full JLPT N5 vocabulary with example sentences, spaced repetition, and weak-key drills. It can even type through your Anki reviews after one sync.
