Hello! You might know me from my previous startup: Sunrise Calendar! For the past 4 years I have been building JUMBO, a way to make security and privacy simpler.
Today, I'm excited to show you our latest work: JUMBO 4. The biggest news is that JUMBO is now completely free, and the app has been redesigned to be easier to use.

With JUMBO 4, you can:
- See where your data was compromised in data leaks (80% of people have leaks!)
- Get free identity theft insurance, from $25,000 up to $1,000,000! (takes less than 30 seconds to enroll)
- Block more than 400 trackers from collecting data about you
- Check what Google knows about you (you’ll be surprised)
With more and more data leaks happening (just recently TMobile and PayPal), we want to build a beautiful app that makes you safer online, while potentially saving you hundreds of dollars (if you already pay for identity theft insurance).
So.. why did we switch from a paid consumer subscription to free? How can we afford to offer free identity theft insurance? Are we going to sell your data to make money?
1. First, no. We will never sell your data. Our privacy policy https://blog.withjumbo.com/priva... is very clear about that point, and I could be legally in trouble if we were found to sell your data.
2. On the business model: After running a consumer subscription for more than 2 years, we found that a lot of people can’t or don't want to pay $100 a year. This limited our growth (we got to 25,000 paying subscribers), as viral and organic growth is much harder as a paid product. So we became dependent on buying ads to grow, which never felt right to me.
3. Our new business model is to find value for enterprise customers, who are the employers of our happy JUMBO users. Protecting your employees is protecting your business. If you’re interested to discuss about “JUMBO for Teams”, please reach out at teams@withjumbo.com
The work to protect yourself online will never be “done”. JUMBO 4 is certainly our best work so far, but we are pushing ourselves to make the best security and privacy tool for today’s internet, and for that we need your help. Awesome news. I have been using Jumbo for over a year on my iphone and it just makes me feel a little safer in a cyber world rife with someone to dispose of your money and dignity. Thanks Jumbo team and hope it all goes off in a jumbo explosion. Is there an option in the pipeline to stop the malicious use of my credit card by me during Black Friday, Amazon Prime day, Boxing Day sales etc? ;)
