This new service from my friends at Journy is seriously cool. I saw it in action in New York, and was blown away – no more relying on Foursquare or TripIt when you're in town. For $15 a day they take care of everything, getting you a customized itinerary for your trip, and they'll help you in real time once you're there. They have a great network of people who know everything about destinations, and for the price I think it's killer.
@elizabethhunker@gojourny@amy_guo@leitihsu@ow Funny enough, an early beta tester actually told us he cancelled his AMEX black card after using Journy for his Tokyo trip. We've found that credit card concierge services are great at getting you in to a place you want to go to, but fall short at helping you discover the hidden gems and spots you might not know about. And that's where we at Journy come in!

Love the concept. Makes the trip planning more interesting. I have some questions:
1. Any plans to make "ready to go" itineraries based on the user's preferences, that one can unlock and start using right away? For ex: Over a period, the team might see repeated itinerary request for Italy(with every user's preference more or less not changing much).
2. Does Journy get some monetary benefits from the places(say restaurants) recommended by the team?
I'm looking forward to using this service to plan effectively for my future vacations.

1) We are considering providing some free basic guides (a few can actually be found over at www.gojourny.com/stories). However, the real benefit of Journy is not just getting the right set of recommendations, it's also getting the reservations and bookings needed to enjoy that trip!
2) We have partnerships with hotels to get our travelers better perks, but we do not and will NEVER take payment from restaurants to recommend them to our travelers. We're all about super transparent pricing so it's just a flat rate of $15 / day, and any activities that require advance booking are done with no additional fees for travelers.
Look forward to helping you with your next Journy!

@susan_ho : Great, thanks for the explanation. I wish the very best for the Journy team.
Looks awesome! I travel so much for work and never have time to plan out a trip... this is a no brainer to get.
Are you guys planning on ever doing virtual group tours? The best hack I have to make short-term friends is hitting up meetups. Pairing with another traveller would be way awesomer.
Great idea @zemvpferreira. We are thinking about how to incorporate video into our itineraries to give our customer a better understanding of the recommendations…But right now because the majority of our travelers are solo or couples, that's where our focus is.
Yes! cool to see Journy on PH, used it for a trp for Paris and I was totally blown away by how good the itinerary was, would never have found half the spots without it. Even living in Manhattan it a really simply way to plan a staycation. Super rad travel platform.
My wife and I are traveling around the world and we've been using Journy to help plan a big chunk of our trip. We save a ton of time and we're discovering a bunch of hidden gems we couldn't have found otherwise. We absolutely love the service!
