journeys.team is a free to play daily game where the objective is to correctly identify a football player from their club history. Each day their will be a new game featuring a different footballer. The player starts each game with 100 points. 10 points will be deducted from their total for each incorrect guess, and they can reveal hints along the way.
Inspired by those kitchen party conversations about football's cult heroes, one season wonders, and the "did he really play for them?!" journeymen. journeys was created for fans of the beautiful game to boast their obscure, useless, encyclopaedic football player knowledge that true football nerds like to wear as a badge of honour.
The game was built with Grav CMS, utilising the login plugin to handle accounts. It relies on a lightweight JS slider called keen slider for the core UI interaction. All shirt designs are created in the design system component library in Figma, and are directly deployed to the theme via the API. Player data is sourced from Transfermarkt to ensure accuracy.
