I built Journalist & Media Contacts because founders, business owners, and small PR teams keep wasting time (and money) on media outreach that doesn’t fit the publication or the journalist’s actual beat.
Most people either spray generic pitches or pay for big, expensive media databases that are overkill when you just need a focused shortlist for one story. We wanted something simpler and more practical on mobile: pick your industry (and optionally a story idea + region), get matching publications with an explanation of why they fit, see available editorial/journalist email contacts (clearly separated from advertising ones), build and organize shortlists, and get guided pitch prep with a full PR pitching guide and examples.
The bundled directory currently has 523 publications and 866 contact addresses. Core features (directory, shortlists, guide, and preparation tools) are free—no purchase required. Most of it works locally on your phone.
It’s Android-only right now and the contact directory refreshes with app updates (contacts change, so nothing is guaranteed).
I’d love honest feedback from anyone who’s done founder-led PR or runs a small team:
Does the matching + shortlist flow feel useful for real stories?
What’s missing that would make pitch prep more practical?
Any industries, regions, or publication types we should prioritize next?
Thanks for checking it out—I’ll be in the comments all day answering questions.

Tagline (≤60 characters): “Find journalist contacts and prepare stronger media pitches”
Short description: Helps founders and small PR teams discover relevant publications, find editorial contacts, build focused media shortlists, and prepare individual pitches—with a built-in PR guide. Core features free; works mostly offline.
Extra tips that matter
Lead with the problem and your “why,” not a feature list.
Keep the tone founder-to-community (authentic and helpful beats marketing language).
Ask one or two specific questions to spark replies—engagement in the first hours helps ranking.
Reply to every comment quickly and substantively on launch day.
Gallery images/screenshots of the matching flow, shortlist, and pitch-prep screens + a short screen-recording demo will outperform polished marketing fluff.
Launch early (ideally 12:01 AM PT on a weekday) and stay active all day.
