Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Tejas, the maker of JobTune.
A while back I was job-hunting in Toronto, sending out application after application and rewriting my resume for every single posting — never really knowing if it would get past the ATS. It was exhausting, and honestly a little demoralizing.
So I built JobTune to fix the part I hated most: it tailors your resume to a specific job using only the experience you already have, and gives you an honest match score before you apply. Most tools promise you a shiny 99% to make you feel good — I wanted the opposite: the real number, so you know where you actually stand and what to fix.
How it works:
Open a job on LinkedIn / Indeed / anywhere → "Extract from current page (very fast)" (or paste it)
Upload your resume (PDF or DOCX)
Hit Optimize → get a tuned resume + an honest before/after score
It's a Chrome extension, lives in your side panel, and you get 5 free tune-ups to try it on real jobs.
I'd genuinely love your honest feedback — what's confusing, what's missing, what would make you actually use it. I'll be here all day answering everything. 🙏

Does the honest match score actually penalize you when the job asks for years of experience you don't have, or does it mostly just check for keyword overlap?

@zcanyelkenzudp Great question. It's primarily keyword and skills overlap against the specific posting — so it rewards matching the language and competencies the ATS actually scans for. It doesn't hard-penalize years of experience as a separate rule, but big gaps (missing skills, domain, seniority signals) do pull the score down and, importantly, it won't inflate to a fake 100% to hide them. The whole idea is that the number reflects where you really stand, not a feel-good score. Appreciate you digging into the details!

Finally, an ATS tool that doesn't promise the moon — ran it on a posting yesterday and the score felt painfully accurate, which honestly was more useful than some inflated 98% I got elsewhere.

@kapkac87971 This might be my favorite kind of feedback — "painfully accurate" is exactly what I was going for. An inflated 98% feels nice for about five seconds and then gets you screened out at the interview stage. Thanks for actually running it on a real posting, and I hope it helps you land the callback. 🙌
