honestly the start-when-opened approach is really thoughtful. one thing that would help my dad though is a way to adjust the caption font size and background contrast right on screen, because the lighting in different rooms changes a lot and sometimes the text gets hard to see.
Would love a way to keep certain captions pinned on screen, like the person's name at the start of a conversation, so it's easier to follow who's talking in a group setting.
Big, clear captions showed up the second I tapped open, and the translation toggle was a nice touch. Glad it keeps things offline with no saved history.
