Jesus Calling is a massively popular daily devotional book written by Christian author Sarah Young. First published in 2004, it is designed to be read day-by-day, with each entry written in the first person as if Jesus Christ is speaking directly to the reader.

Would love a feature that lets me bookmark or save specific devotions and tag them by theme like anxiety or gratitude, so I can easily revisit them when I need that kind of encouragement most.
The first-person format made the devotions feel surprisingly personal rather than preachy, and the entries are short enough to fit into a hectic morning. Worth a look if you want something calm to start the day with.
Picked it up out of curiosity and the first-person format hits different than other devotionals I've tried. The daily entry length is just right for a quiet morning coffee.
Picked this up on a friend's recommendation and the first-person format caught me off guard, made me pause and actually read slowly instead of skimming. The short daily entries fit perfectly into my coffee routine.
The devotional style felt surprisingly personal, like a quiet morning check-in rather than a formal prayer. The first-person framing made me pause and reread a few entries, which I did not expect from a daily book.
Have been using it on my phone for a couple weeks now and the short first-person entries actually fit my morning routine better than longer devotionals. Surprised how often one lands right when I needed it.
