Hi Product Hunters, iWorth was born after seeing my savings account hit 0 . I thought "what gets measured gets controlled" and I wanted to do some coding (I know, amazingly fun way to spend evenings). Principle is super simple. Input your data once per month (you get a reminder), do a bit of thinking while you do it and that is it. You form a habit and your loss aversion feeling (I love psychology) is all it takes to make sure you get the better result every month. Unobtrusive, easy and fast. Start with $1 and hopefully end with $1,000,000. Once you do, be so kind to fuel my coffee addiction :) tl;dr We live in a world where saving money is not really a big deal. It should be. Once I started tracking my expenses, doing budgeting and bit of investing I realized how much money just leaks. For that reason, I started experimenting with ideas and thinking how nice it would be to have a way of tracking my assets that doesn't take too much time. Thus, the idea of iWorth was born. I did study some psychology and economics (got MA in econ) so I decided to leverage that knowledge + coding skillz (yes, skillz) to make something cool. A tracker that I was looking for and nobody bothered to make (till now). In few months I managed to 20x my own net worth because I love playing games and the number I see every month is like a game for me. I think it will be for you too. The original idea was also to share how I did that (and get other people to do it as well), because saving money is super underrated nowadays and even though we may have a good cash flow every month, we don't really have anything that stays with us. For me, it was all about zero sum game (save first, spend the rest). I truly hope this little idea helps you sort (some of) your money troubles, student loans or debts. Enjoy :)
