I'm Sean, a solo developer from Switzerland, and I built IOweU because of a problem everyone knows: my friends and I could never remember who paid for what, and my stuff — chargers, books, tools — kept disappearing into other people's homes forever.
Expense-splitting apps only handle money. IOweU tracks anything someone owes: cash, borrowed items, chores, favors, even "you owe me a cinema ticket." The key idea is that both sides confirm every IOU — one person creates it, the other accepts it — so there's no arguing later about what was agreed.
