Hi Product Hunt 👋
I’m Yusuf, building InstaBOQ from India.
Every project starts the same way: someone sits with the drawings and copies room sizes, door schedules, column tables and beam details into Excel, line by line. For a large building that’s typically 5 hours for the BOQ and as much again for the bar bending schedule, and one wrong digit flows straight into the cost and the steel order.
📐 BOQ from drawings. Upload your PDF. AI reads rooms, wall lengths, doors, windows, sections, and column, footing, beam and slab schedules. The quantities land in an online BOQ editor with ready wording for government or private work.
🔩 Bar bending schedule from drawings. AI reads beam elevations, slab schedules, and column, footing, raft and pile details into a full bar bending schedule: cutting lengths, bar counts and steel weight by diameter. Beams that may be misread are flagged with the reason.
✅ Nothing is guessed. If a value isn’t written on the drawing, it stays blank and is named, never filled with a thumb rule. You see exactly what was read and fix it before anything is priced or ordered.
⏱ What it saves: reading takes under 10 minutes, usually. On our test house, the whole BOQ took 6 minutes including checking, against 3 hours by hand.
Then export to Excel with live formulas, print, or share a read-only link with your client.
Also free on the site: a bar bending schedule calculator, RA bill, labour bill and wage calculators, and 38 Excel templates for BOQs, bills and site registers.
I’d love feedback from anyone who estimates or details steel for a living: what does the AI get wrong on your drawings?
