Hi, I'm David, I made Instableep.
It started two years ago as a side project and my first SaaS. The bleeping tools back then wouldn't let you use your own sound effect and were missing a few other things, so I built my own. Then I left it alone for two years, and it still picked up new users and a bit of revenue every month without me touching it. That surprised me enough to come back to it this year. (Apparently I also never posted it here, so here it is.)
How it works: upload a video or audio file, it transcribes it with a timestamp on every word, you pick the words to censor (there's a curse words preset, or click and type your own), and each one gets a bleep, silence or another sound. Nothing gets cut, so it stays in sync. Most uploads turn out to be clips under a minute, so short-form creators seem to be the main crowd.
I'm now working on AI-based word search and detection. Feedback I'd love: is the UI clear the first time you use it or does it need a tutorial, and what's missing for your workflow?
