InflammaScan is an anti-inflammatory diet app. It scores any meal from a photo or a text description, rating its inflammatory potential, and logs the user's symptoms alongside it. Because inflammatory triggers differ from one person to another, the app looks for correlations between meals and symptoms over time and surfaces the patterns specific to each user. It also includes a daily inflammation dashboard, saved meals and a library of anti-inflammatory recipes.
Hey everyone,
I spent the last two years dealing with chronic inflammation issues. Nothing I tried made a lasting difference, so I got increasingly interested in whether what I was eating was part of the problem, or if I could at least reduce systemic inflammation through my diet.
The thing I kept running into is that inflammatory triggers are very different from one person to another. Two people can eat the same "healthy" meal and react in completely different ways. Figuring out which foods are your triggers normally means an elimination diet: months of notebooks, ingredients removed one at a time, and symptoms that often show up two or three days after the meal that caused them. Most people give up before they get an answer.
I built InflammaScan to make that process something you can actually stick with.
What it does:
- Scores meals from a photo or a text description. You get an inflammation score with suggestions on what to swap.
- Daily inflammation dashboard. Your overall score for the day, with a timeline so you can see progress.
- Finds your personal patterns. Log how you feel every day and, as your history builds up, the app looks for correlations between what you ate and your symptoms, and surfaces the triggers that are specific to you.
- Saved meals. Bookmark the things you eat every week so logging them takes one tap.
- Recipe library. Several hundred anti-inflammatory recipes.
It's for people who suspect their diet is feeding their inflammation and have no practical way to prove it, or who want to follow an AIP or anti-inflammatory diet without doing all the bookkeeping by hand.
Pricing is $9.95/month, or $29.95/year (includes a 3-day trial).
One thing I'd like your opinion on: the roadmap. Barcode scanning for packaged foods seems to me the obvious next step, but I'd rather hear what you'd want from an app like this before I decide, as I'm now trying to be very clinical about new features.
I'm here all day, happy to answer anything.
