The earth isn’t flat. Why are your tools? Dive deep into arbitrarily large amounts of information with infinitely zoomable knowledge maps. Visually represent & spatially organize your projects to - let ideas grow - unfold complexity - keep an overview
Hi Product Hunters 👋
I’m Johannes, CEO & Co-founder of Infinity Maps. We are over the 🌑 (pun intended) to share our web-app for knowledge management with you.
💥 Growing complexity and scattered knowledge pose an increasing challenge, and our brains aren’t meant to handle todays information overload. But visual perception and our sense of space can help us. Our goal with Infinity Maps is to develop a knowledge tool that taps into these idle resources so you can understand complex topics more easily, manage big projects in a more structured way, and present them with ease.
👩💻 For the 1.0 release we have implemented a tool that has the simple interaction design of a notepad, is structured like a mindmap, spatial like a whiteboard, scalable like a wiki, interconnected like a graph, easy-to-present like a ppt, fast as a video game, and realtime collaborative.

@jgrenzemann Amazing Looks so intricate and beautiful!
@vivekrp Hi Vivek, the promo code originally was limited to the launch day - but we've extended it for the PH community for a few more days 😊 Please try again!
Report
@jgrenzemann Thanks for extending the offer. But I don't see monthly pro option in the store, only annual pro offer or unlimited annual/monthly offer.

Love the video! Looks great. Curious though, why limit to this card format and not give the option of a more free mindmap feel?
@pablo_fatas Hey Pablo, thank you for asking 🙂 No in fact thats not so easy... Infinity Maps are some kind of "visual trees" and every card is a node. So it's not just assets on a whiteboard. BUT if you change the color of an card to transparent, you can get this effect that it at least looks like a free floating asset... Would that be a solution?
Report
@jgrenzemann This makes sense. The transpararent hack is good enough im sure. I thought it might be a techincal thing but was just checking if it was a choice of some kind :) Overall, looks great I will definitely give it a try. Thanks for the quick replies.
@pablo_fatas thx a lot for the feedback Pablo & the good exchange 🙏😸

Hey ?makers ! I'm a fairly new & basic user of Miro, and haven't been in an organization using Notion, yet. I'd love to hear a pitch on the advantage of moving to Infinity!!
Hi @mkaras! While, Miro is great for single workshops, and Notion is great for structured notetaking, Infinity Maps gives you the space to collect all your ideas and projects in one overview. You can go from simple notes, over structured concepts to impressive presentations and interactive workshop sessions in a single coherent deeply nested knowledge map.
@mkaras Infinity Maps is so scalable, that you can build maps larger than the planet.
Try zooming in here https://app.infinitymaps.io/maps... (use double clicks or scroll / pinch)
or zooming out from here https://app.infinitymaps.io/maps... (use ESC key or scroll / pinch)
And: having it all in one large map makes it easy for your natural sense of orientation to keep the big picture in mind.
@heikohaller I'll certainly start playing around with it! I've found that one of the biggest challenges in my organization is alignment on tools, platforms, and resources that we use.
I have designers using Sketch, other designers on Adobe. I have some folks using Trello when Asana would be more effective, but there's resistance to (another) change. Dropbox, Airtable, Contentful, all used to what is probably 10% of their capability.
So, all that said- we will see! I remember diving into Prezi 10 years ago for presentations and loving the way it followed thought and flow, so I can definitely appreciate the opportunity Infinity Maps brings.
Thank you for your time with the response!

Hi guys, cool idea! In my line of work, I manage several embedded software components, which, as usual, are constantly growing in complexity and are all interconnected. I can see potential in your tool, especially for visual representation of an abstraction level just above the traditional class diagram. In my experience, it is often necessary when presenting the "bigger picture" architecture of a multi component project to managers, customers or training fellow engineers. Traditional software design tools seem to be lacking in this department. I have two questions for you:
1. Do you have any plans for the future, on developing a toolbox for SW design, with some basic UML support?
2. Are the maps intergratable in some form of version control system?
Thanks and good luck 💪
@pavlospap Hi Pavlos, thank you for your comment. Regarding your questions:
1) yeah sure our current product is still very generalistic (so few features for a special audience). And "special shapes" is sth. that already has been asked for. Feel free to post your request here (https://feedback.infinitymaps.io...). Then you get updates once we've realized it
2) Yeah the are. You can already export your maps as Json, other structured formats are on the roadmap.
Thank you very much 🙏
@xam_de Thank you for your comment. Would love to learn abou your experience with other complexity tools in comparison to Infinity Maps, if you have tried it yet?
Report
@felicitashilge wikis in general also scale, but they require a lot of manual work to maintain an overview.
@xam_de Thanks for elaborating, yeah, they sure do

Looks really cool. One question, Does it support syncing blocks? Information in neither linear nor hierarchical. It like writing a research paper, you pull information and make sense of it.
@nilay_patel8 Thanks! Do you mean having "twin" cards in different places, that always have the same content / children? That is definitely planned but not yet there.
Good evening! The product sounds helpful and I think that the introduction video is creative and well made! Would you recommend using it for private life matters too or is it rather intended for companies? Thanks in advance!
@aline_gengenbach you can use it for both (I do so, too). I also use i.e. to organize my notes when I read a book.
Report
@aline_gengenbach I´m using it for doing my studies and for planning my vacations. So I think you can use it for everything. We saw a lot of people who use the app for concepts to write a book or to plan a shool lesson.
