I'm the maker of Impasto. I built it for an embarrassingly specific reason: I kept mistiming my pizza dough. I'd plan a long ferment, then realize at 11pm I'd started too late, or wake up to dough that had blown past its window.
Every dough calculator I tried told me the grams but never the when. So I made the thing I wanted: you pick when you want to eat, and Impasto works backwards and schedules every step, mix, fold, proof, bake, to a real clock time. It adjusts the recipe to your kitchen temperature (a warm kitchen gets less yeast), handles poolish and biga, suggests flours you can actually buy, and keeps a little bake journal so each pizza teaches you something for the next.
It's free, ad-free, works offline, and speaks 11 languages. Android for now (iOS is the obvious next step).
