Hey Product Hunters! 🤗 This is the biggest project of my life so I made a short video where I explain "why, what, for who, who" I created IMPACT msg and if you like "long" stories, read more bellow 🤭 :
💡 Last year when I was at the restaurant I looked up and realized that people are all on their smartphone and refresh twitter, instagram, snapchat, like a zombie hoping to see new content (me included) ... After weeks of research, I realized that it was due to the "fear of missing out". Scientists have revealed that people are afraid to miss what they like and that "push notifications" created dopamine (happiness hormone) to the body, crazy and sad no ? ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯ I deepened my research, exchanged with creators and influencers who told me that they were "trapped" by platforms (youtube, instagram...) because it’s the social networks that decide which subscribers see their content. I found it sad that people takes years to gather a community and are totally dependent on algorithm that will only notify the viewers profile who watch ads or stay longtime on the platform ect ect ... I understand both sides (social networks and creators) the purpose of both is to make money but the day when the first one closes the second is « dead ». So I thought « why not create a new social network ? » but play on the same ground that Google Amazon Facebook is not a good idea (we saw it with IG who killed snap). So I created an app only for receive an IMPACT (which is a 123 characters message) from people that we follow. Between the messenger and social network it’s a communication tool that I like to call "social messaging". Followers receive directly messages from people they like and influencers are less dependant of social networks and are sure that 100% of their followers have the message (new post, video, live, discount, event…) Maybe I am a utopist who thinks that it is possible to spend less time on what we are recommended and more time on what we like 🤗.
