Imaginry is a free, browser-based studio for making generative backgrounds. Designers and developers often need unique textures and animated backgrounds, but most tools are paid or slow. Imaginry runs live on WebGL with 51 stackable effects, including gradients, fluted glass, grain, halftone and glitch. Tweak layers in real time, then export PNG, looping MP4/WebM video or embed code. No account needed.

I made Imaginry because every time I needed a background for a site or a slide, I ended up scrolling stock sites or fighting an AI generator that changed everything when I asked it to change one thing.
So I built a tiny studio instead. You stack effects like glass, grain, light leaks, halftone and glitch on a gradient or your own photo, and tweak them live. Then you export a 4K PNG, a looping video, or embed code. It’s all drawn by shaders in your browser: no AI, no sign-up, and your photos never leave your device.
You can now also sign in and publish designs to Explore, so others can remix them.
