Want to create a color palette for the web based on an eye-catching photo? Tailwind-to-Image is a mini app that helps by extracting a color palette from an image, and then conveniently outputting a Tailwind config to copy and paste.

Great tool, but the naming “baby-shit-brown” make me a bit hesitant to use it in any professional context. 🤣

@joakim_nystrom1 yikes, that must have come from the underlying npm package I used which referenced the Zeplin color palette.

Hey y'all!
After browsing an antique map store in Charleston, South Carolina this past Summer, I became fascinated with extracting color from photos to form color palettes for websites.
Given that Tailwind is my favorite way to add styles to web projects, I figured it might be helpful to make a tool that helps automate this process. Recently, I decided to make it pretty and public-facing.
Whether you want to easily get color palettes for a Tailwind project, or you just like getting design inspiration, I hope this tool is handy.
Cheers!
