ImageSplitter splits a single panoramic image into pixel-perfect wallpapers for each of your monitors β matching real screen positions, resolutions and scaling. Browse Unsplash & Pexels, save presets, apply in one click. Native SwiftUI app for macOS.

Hi Product Hunt! π
I built ImageSplitter because I could never get a panoramic wallpaper to line up properly across my three monitors β different resolutions, scaling factors, and macOS treating each screen independently made it a nightmare.
ImageSplitter reads your actual monitor layout (positions, resolutions, Retina scaling) and slices any panorama into perfectly aligned wallpapers, applied automatically. It handles tricky cases like two identical monitor models, and works with the latest macOS wallpaper APIs.
You can also browse Unsplash and Pexels directly in the app, and save layout presets if you switch setups.
It's completely free β no subscription, no account
Would love to see per-monitor rotation support so I can mix a landscape main display with a portrait side screen without the split math breaking. Also a quick "preview before apply" overlay would save a lot of trial and error.
@garyveeeΒ Great suggestions, thanks! Mixed orientations should mostly work already since I read the actual frame geometry of each display (portrait screens report swapped dimensions) β but I'll admit I haven't stress-tested every layout combo, so if you hit a case where the split breaks, I'd love a screenshot of your arrangement.
The "preview before apply" overlay is a really good idea β showing the slice boundaries on the panorama before committing. Adding it to the roadmap. π
Finally gave this a spin on my dual monitor setup and it nailed the split without any awkward cropping. Grabbing from Unsplash right inside the app is a nice touch.
@edwina_emilyΒ Thanks so much for trying it out! Really glad the split worked cleanly on your dual setup β that's exactly the "it just works" feeling I was going for. The Unsplash integration was a late addition but it's become my favorite part too. Enjoy! π
would love a "creative crop" mode where it picks the best slice based on things like face detection or where the sharpest parts of the image land, instead of just splitting it dead-center on the aspect ratio
@herman_sherwoodΒ That's a clever idea! Right now the split is purely geometric (it mirrors your physical monitor layout), but a "smart placement" mode that shifts the crop window based on saliency or face detection could work nicely β Apple's Vision framework would make that feasible natively, without sending anything to a server. No promises on timing, but it's going on the ideas list. Thanks for the thoughtful feedback!
