A few months ago, I built the IdleSaver Chrome Extension to tackle a simple annoyance: web sessions constantly timing out and throwing me into 'Away' loops. The reception was awesome, but as a sandboxed extension, it couldn't touch the OS layer. Your machine would still lock up or drift into sleep mode the second you stepped away for coffee. To bridge that final gap, I built IdleSaver Desktop. It’s a lightweight tray app designed to fake genuine user activity rather than just uptime. Using native input injection (CGEventPost, SendInput, XTest), it drops tiny 10px random-angle shifts that reset in 50ms. It’s smart enough to step aside if it detects your actual mouse moving, and.
