There are many excellent icon sets out there, but designers are usually limited to 1 because each icon set has its own syntax, lots of files and they are hard to mix. Icon fonts render badly in browsers, SVG are not easy to use. Iconify offers new approach to icons: one simple syntax for all icon sets. Unlike fonts that load entire font, only icons that are used on page are loaded from public API. Icons are rendered as SVG with height of 1em (change "font-size" to custom height) and color set to currentColor (change "color" to custom color). This product is rather new. I have been developing it for a couple of years, but it became stable only half a year ago. There are still many things in development: icon finder for easy integration, better documentation, possibility to publish icons. Goal of this project is to unite many icon sets. Give more choice to UI designers, while keeping usage as simple as possible. Another goal is to allow designers to publish their icon sets easily, but that goal will take a while to accomplish. Iconify offers many tools for developers. Tools can be used to build custom versions of Iconify and to import/export icons. With those tools Iconify can be easily used with custom and premium icon sets. Try Iconify. If you find something you don't like, please tell me about it. There is a lack of documentation at the moment. I hope to write detailed documentation with tutorials during August and September.
