@stefanoscozzese , I have to agree with @rrhoover and @dshan - the onboarding is far too heavy. A recommendation would be for you to show the most popular DJs up top to minimize friction. This is interesting for me because I recall being a part of your first beta launch attempt in 2011 back when progressive house was first starting to take on mainstream attention. Your site was just a barebones site with a freeform sign-on process. Amusingly, I remember claiming "Avicii" and "Afrojack" as usernames. > What were the biggest failures of your last iteration? > What is your ultimate goal with this one? > What is your intent beyond serving as just an aggregator? > How do you plan on monetizing beyond ad placement?

Hey @stefanoscozzese could you hook it up with a beta code? I'd love to check it out

@rrhoover that is a dope idea. I agree with everyone else on the continuos play and filtering between mixes and songs, which I've already asked for some time ago. Otherwise, I've been a big fan of it for quite a while, given the super impressive design and the passion they put into it.

@jtzou > What were the biggest failures of your last iteration Thanks for reminding me those 6 crazy days :) it was not a really failure, but a viral experiment, same as the first landing page of about.me. The platform went "out of hand", we couldn't control it, we were not ready to receive such an incredible hype in such a short time. > What is your ultimate goal with this one? > What is your intent beyond serving as just an aggregator? DJs do not need another tool to manage. We created a simple idea to connect all their fans and to make sure they do not waste their contents and fans into too many generalist platforms, collecting all into one single spot. Step by step we will add interactions, but the main content will always be generated by certified DJs. > How do you plan on monetizing beyond ad placement? After taking all fans we should be ready to implement a ticketing system and become a focused and special platform for the EDM ticketing ($ 2.5 BN annually) We believe that for fans it would be extremely cool having the chance of "buy your tickets from Dj xxx” Thanks to @rrhoover and @dshan for the feedbacks about the signup process, we will definitely work to quickly improve the on boarding flow. Thanks to @stefanobernardi for believing in us from the beginning ;) Respect

This is a cool idea, I find it very promising, I'm a heavy soundcloud user too. I kind of disagree with what was being said about the onboarding process, I really enjoyed selecting the djs before being able to do anything, especially because I found almost every DJ I'm into (maybe 10 is a bit too much though). Doing a popular list would have been a big turn-off for me because it would have been Steve Aoki and other crappy "djs" on top of the list and I would have left immediately. I think having a menu with subgenres is a better idea (with a Popular section in it maybe). In a one-liner: don't push american EDM too hard or I think you'll never attract Resident Advisor audience. One question: A lot of the mixes I listen to (for example BBC Essential Mixes) are uploaded by random users on Soundcloud, so I guess i'll never find it on your platform? Hey @kellymcgrath, you do not need any special beta code, just sign up using your twitter account and you are in http://producthunt.iam.dj

Sounds like it might be a tough monetization strategy. I would also like an autoplay and ability to sort by set vs songs. I think backplane has an interesting approach to helping fans connect to artists. Good luck!
