Hi! My name is Eropa. I am so excited to share the founding story of Hyre with all of you today! I started Hyre a few years ago after working in HR, Finance, Operations, etc. for a large staffing agency. The inefficiencies of the hospitality industry became wildly apparent on my first day. I will never forget the hundreds of calls I would receive from clients and staff complaining about service, pay, logistics, and much more. I became intimately familiar with their pain points over the time I was working at the firm and had a deep desire to help. From learning about entrepreneurship in grad school to joining clubs and winning business competitions, my passion for the hospitality industry got me interviewing as many hospitality professionals as I could. I interviewed at least 3 a day until I had successfully spoken to 300 hotel managers and 500 hospitality staff. I asked them everything I could think of and dove really deep into their pain points. During these conversations, I started noticing patterns and common desires. All of them had staffing issues! Both external and internal staffing was a nightmare. Ding! Ding! That's what I would solve!!! So, I in 2017 I launched as a robust digital temp staffing platform for hospitality. I am proud to say that our customers loved it! We onboarded companies like the Hilton, Westin, Marriott, in just the first few months! It was exhilarating! Growth was positive and churn was almost non-existent, but I knew that I wanted to build an HR platform for hospitality that helped the industry with staffing as a whole (not just temp staffing). So I needed to start getting back to that goal. In early 2019, I went back to the drawing board and started heavily researching the industry once more. This time, we had paying customers to draw from. Again, I noticed that they still had staffing problems but this time they were exclusively complaining about internal staffing issues - because that was already solved by using Hyre as their external staffing partner. It was evident that we were going to be embarking on a journey to build modules that would solve their internal staffing needs - scheduling, time-tracking, payroll, etc. And what a journey it was! It took a lot of sweat, tears, and all-nighters to get to this point. I am happy to announce that we finally launched our enhanced shift scheduling software in early 2020. Hi Eropa, this looks like something we need, however, our business is not in the hospitality industry. Would it also be suited for a logistics company?

Hi @michael_sousa, That's a great question. Yes, we built the platform with hospitality industry in mind, trying to solve problems unique to the industry. However, Hyre is designed to solve employee scheduling issues and time tracking issues, regardless of the industry. We are actually currently working with a few people with logistics businesses - helping them onboard their employees onto Hyre.
