What do you think? …

Levi Nunnink
Hey, PH. I'm really happy to share this labor of love with you: A free illustration library of hand-drawn artwork for use in websites and apps. And this is truly a labor of love. Let me explain: Today commercial art is more visually colorful, elaborate, and abundant than any of those early creators could dream of. It is also hideous and soulless. It’s a genre of mass-produced artwork that’s created by computers for the benefit of computers. And it’s everywhere. Art, even commercial art, is a categorically human enterprise. Why do we decorate our products, workspaces, and tools? Because we need beauty to remind us that we have souls. There’s a connection between humans that comes with every hand-drawn image. Commercial artists in the past drew images to sell newspapers, shampoo, and calendars but they did it in a way that touches our souls even a century later. I think we should try to do the same with our products. That’s what I’m trying to do with the Humanities illustrations: Create commercial artwork by humans for humans. The art we created is hand-drawn. It comes with all the imperfections and inspirations of every real illustration. Each illustration is limited and enhanced by the talent of their creator—but they all have a human creator and they’re meant to be enjoyed by humans. They came from a place of inspiration and followed the laborious path of every work to completion, not perfection. This library is for you to use on your own sites to bring a human touch to your products.

So beautiful! Beautiful concept and beautiful illustrations! *_* I absolutely agree with your words! Everything, from simple daily needs to higher forms of art, is so industrialized and soulless, that people started to adjust the same ''quality'' and consumer behavior in relation to people... In such a world it is more than great when people give a piece of own self, a piece of own soul in order to remind others about real values and passion in creations, daily life, and expressions! ^_^ Big like, big support! <3 Congrats!
