These kinds of tools can be tremendously useful for both the customer and the business. On one hand, it gives an idea of how the process works to the customer and on the other hand, the business generates valuable customers who are now familiar with the process and are also willing to pay the needed budget. Pricing is always a complex issue, this is a great way to mitigate it and make it fun.

@drorco Thanks Dror, Pricing is indeed a tricky issue to say the least and I guess there will never be an accurate way of calculating it as it depends not only on technical elements but also on experience, execution level, social economic base etc.. As you said - it's not only the price but also the process understanding.

I love the new cost widget! Since I'm one of the ppl who calls @yoavush for video estimates for Kickstaters this will be super useful. Maybe you can add more depth making it easier to get a crowdfunding video cost estimate or more directed towards what I need the video for website, promo etc.

@seanlewin Interesting. at the moment we're more about estimating the general costs of video productions, no matter if it goes to your social/website/etc.. Having said that, it's something to think about, especially since we deal with different kind of videos at Veed.me Thanks for the kind words and I hope you make a good use of it ;)

As for the gut check part, I'm not sure this will be the ideal use of out tool since we acknowledge that some creators might charge differently based on their own rates, experience, location etc.. but it will definitely help you with understanding ballparks. As for websites calculators - here's one by @pickcrew who inspired us to build our own tool with their app building estimator which is quite similar to the website one - http://howmuchdoesawebsiteco.st/

Interesting tool and also a great way to get leads for your business. It also makes you focus on how much different aspects of creating a video will cost. I like how the price changes in the top right corner versus showing the implications of certain features front and center.
