Plan your day by simply typing it. Write things like “Lunch at noon” or “Leave 20 mins earlier” and Hour by Hour turns them into a linked schedule automatically. Track what’s happening right now, get notifications, and see progress with Live Activities. You can even snap a photo of a printed schedule and let AI turn it into events you can follow.
Hey folks! 👋
Two years ago I was flying to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. My flight from Heathrow was at 13:30, which meant arriving about 2.5 hours early. Then I had to work out when to get the train from my home town, when to leave the house, how much time I had to pack, and so on.
I ended up writing bullet points in Apple Notes, working backwards from the flight time.
That got me thinking: why isn’t there an app where you can just type a plan in plain English, like:
* “Train to Heathrow 09:15”
* “Arrive airport 2.5 hrs before flight”
* “Leave home 1 hr earlier”
…and have the timing figure itself out automatically?
Somewhere at 20,000 feet, the idea for Hour by Hour was born.
The core idea is simple: sketch out your day in natural language and let the app turn it into a working schedule. You can type things like “Lunch at noon” or “Leave 20 mins earlier”, link events together so times update automatically, and track your progress through the day with notifications and Live Activities.
You can even snap a photo of a printed schedule (a conference program, concert listing, timetable, etc.) and let AI turn it into editable events you can follow along to.
Two years later, that idea has turned into Hour by Hour.
I’ve also tried to keep the pricing simple. Hour by Hour is freemium: free to try with up to three schedules, and a single $14.99 purchase if you’d like to unlock everything.
I’d love to hear what you think, and how you might use it.
